Business Objectives:
During the last ten years the company has been involved in a wide range of fencing projects across Poverty Bay, Hawke’s Bay and Bay of Plenty including major roadwork.
Our Contract Management Plan has been developed to create a working framework in which the Quality objectives of the client are achieved through planned and consistent implementation of the following objectives:
Understanding our clients stated and implied needs. (The works, workmanship standards, and time frames). The Short Contracting project team is committed to the process of partnering with particular emphasis on respect, trust, co-operation and excellence with the client and its representatives, with established procedures for resolving any conflicts or queries in a timely and effective manner.
To deliver the services under this contract in the most effective manner possible, taking into account safety, client requirements and the environment. This includes the co-operation of all sub-contractors and suppliers.
Management and Staff are constantly striving to protect the environment in planning, executing and monitoring its operations. Short Contracting will continue to refine and improve monitoring and management to achieve this.
Occupational Health and Safety priorities are to promote and maintain the highest degree of health, and safety of both staff and the general public.
Training all employees in service quality with attention to customer satisfaction and improvement of cost effective service.
Improve employee/employer satisfaction through performance reviews and skills training, and open and constructive communications.
Manage the condition of equipment through a regular and documented, preventative maintenance programme, aimed at keeping equipment in optimum safe and economic operating condition at all times.
Continuous review of work requirements and achievements to identify opportunities for quality improvement with emphasis on prevention rather than the detection of non-conformances, and general problems.
Ensure that safety and operating requirements are communicated to clients and general public through accurate and thorough reporting. Improve the company image through greater consistency of good service.
Health & Safety Policy Statement
Short Contractingis committed to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace to ensure that our employees and others are not injured. Our goal is to eliminate all injuries, accidents and incidents.
To achieve this goal we will make safety a priority on all of our working sites and jobs and we will require active participation by everyone in our business to adequately plan the work we are carrying out and to act safely at all times.
We will;
1.Plan ahead to systematically identify and control all hazards in our workplace and to ensure our employees have the right plant and skills needed to work safely and control these hazards.
2.Involve our employees in safety activities.
3.Induct and train our employees to recognise and control hazards and hold regular safety meetings.
4.Monitor our workplace to ensure our planned controls are effective.
5.Supervise our employees to ensure they are acting safely.
6.Record all incidents and accidents in our workplace, investigate all known incidents and accidents and take action to prevent recurrence.
7.Develop and implement emergency and evacuation procedures.
8.Ensure all plant and equipment is maintained and safe to use.
9.Ensure our employees are provided with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
It is our policy to take all practicable steps to comply with the provisions of the Health and safety in Employment Act 1992, the Health and Safety in Employment regulations 1995 and all Codes of Practice and Guidelines applying to the business. The HSE Act was first passed in 1992, but was reviewed and amended substantially in 2002.
